Communication of the Action “Media and Public Credibility” reached 2 million people in BiH via different activities and media formats. Campaign included 36 media in promotion and extensive media coverage.
Public awareness campaign “Media and Public Credibility” organised by Ja bih u EU and partnering organisations BH Journalists Association, Media centre and Press Council, by and large supported development of laws on transparency of media ownership and advertising with a goal to protect freedom of expression and prevent violence and pressure on journalists, especially economic and political pressures.
Draft laws introduced EU standards into this segment of regulation. Action’s activities included expert community, stakeholders, media and public. Communication formats included production and placement of TV and radio material, thematic articles, social and online media posts.
Over 100 journalists’ editors and representatives of institutions directly participated in TV and radio programs as well as in promotional events and press opportunities. The Action was widely promoted within the BiH public and wide group of stakeholders. It primarily promoted transparency of media ownership and advertising that will eventually contribute to independence and integrity of journalists and editors who are the first to suffer from lack of transparency and political and business influence on the media.
The campaign was present in the air throughout the two year period with fruitful and extensive collaboration with media community as well as support from the public and key stakeholders.
